Field trips and the Thursday night cruise have limited availability and will be filled on a first-come basis. If there are any extra tickets for the cruise they will be sold Thursday morning at $38/ticket.

Soils Field Trip

Red Soils, Wetland Characteristics and Constructed Wetlands is designed to give soil scientists a good look at red lacustrine and fine till parent materials. We will be spending a considerable amount of time at the pits so everyone can get a good look at the soil and plants in the area and discuss the wetland characteristics. We will also be reviewing the “Preponderance Test” that the MAPSS organization has been developing. We plan to hand out a copy of the test and have everyone put it to use so we can test its effectiveness with the red soils. There will be a crew of soil scientists from this area, both MN and WI, to lend their opinions and expertise on the subject. Bring your soils gear and clothes for cool/wet weather, you never know around here.

CEUs

CEUs will be available for ARCPACS and MAPSS members. If you want MAPSS to keep track of your CEUs, expect to pay your $10 on Thursday morning when you check in. You will be expected to sign in and out each day so we can track your hours.

MAPSS Annual Meeting

The meeting will take place on Friday morning from 7:30-9:00 at UMD. Breakfast will be served, expect to pay for it at the door. More information will be coming as to exact location and price. Stay tuned.
