Registration & Exhibitor Info

Register soon -- Online registration closes October 18th!

Scholarships Available

We are pleased to be able to offer limited financial assistance for students, teachers, local government officials, municipal employees, and members of citizen or volunteer organizations to attend the conference. College students and teachers, please go here to find out specific opportunities for you. For others seeking assistance, please send your name, contact information, your reason for seeking assistance, and if you’re seeking a conference fee waiver and/or travel assistance. For more information, please contact Jesse at jschombe@d.umn.edu or 218-726-6182.

What’s Included?

Registration fees include morning refreshments and breaks each day of the conference, lunches on Monday and Tuesday, a reception Monday evening, a ticket for the Tuesday evening Awards Banquet (featuring Lake Superior fish!), and access to all conference activities. Please re-use a nametag from a past conference; awards (see below) will be given for the most unique re-used nametag.

If you wish to bring a guest to the Awards Banquet, additional tickets are available for $35 each. Pre-conference volunteer opportunities are available for participants as well (these are free and available to every registrant; see below). We also have rare and exciting field trips planned, both before and after the conference. See additional details below.

As part of our commitment to the environment, we will help organize carpools to the conference, and may be able to organize chartered round-trip bus service for some locations. If you are interested in either of these, please mark the appropriate place on the registration form. This will help us gauge interest.

Exhibitor Information

Exhibitor Registration includes one full conference registration and exhibit space in the Edmund Fitzgerald Hall, adjacent to the conference registration area, and the location of all refreshment breaks and the poster session and reception. Exhibit spaces will consist of 8 ft. x10 ft. booths with drapery (3 ft. sides, 8 ft. back), with a 6 ft. long skirted table, 30 inches tall, a padded chair, and a 7-inch-by -44-inch identification sign. Other options, including electricity, Internet, different tables or chairs, and carpeting, are available through the DECC. For these options, please contact the DECC.

If you wish to select a booth, please review the available booth locations, and call Minnesota Sea Grant at 218-726-8106, otherwise booths will be assigned based on the order of registration.

Conference Awards

Small-Footprint Award
Awards will be presented to conference attendees who travel the farthest to the conference via foot, pedal, or paddle! We know it's October-- be safe, but make your way here under your own power, and you’re eligible for our Small-Footprint Award. Bike lock stations are available at the DECC.

Re-Use Award
Awards will also be given for the most unique and/or interesting re-used nametags. We know many of you have a stack of these from past conferences, so instead of printing another one, we’re asking you to bring an old nametag from home. The more interesting and unique, the better! If you forget or don’t have one, no worries, we’ll take care of you.
