The Sea Grant Files

Sea Grant Files

Tune into Fresh News About Fresh Water

Minnesota Sea Grant is partnering with KUMD Radio (103.3FM) to produce The Sea Grant Files, a weekly broadcast that centers on facets of coastal or aquatic science relevant to Lake Superior, Sea Grant, and the region's public.

Steve Bortone, Minnesota Sea Grant's director and Sea Grant Files host, plans to record 20 episodes before his May departure. Through the recorded discussions he has with University of Minnesota Duluth graduate students, scientists, and professionals, he hopes that people will learn something about Minnesota Sea Grant's activities and become more aware of regional water resources, challenges, and opportunities. Minnesota artist Michael Monroe donated the introductory music for each episode.

Since February 25, 2009, KUMD has been broadcasting the five to nine minute segments of The Sea Grant Files on Wednesdays at 7:45am. The show is produced and edited by KUMD, which broadcasts from the University of Minnesota Duluth campus and is an independent public radio station offering a mix of community-based programs.

Go to Minnesota Sea Grantís Web page (www.seagrant.umn.edu/radio/sgf) to access audio files.

The series is also available by Podcast on the Minnesota Sea Grant Web site and through iTunes.
