Sea Grant Awards Best Student Paper

Anne Cooper earned the “Sea Grant Award for Fisheries Science” at the 40th annual meeting of the Minnesota Chapter of the American Fisheries Society, which was held in St. Cloud, Minn., during March.

Cooper’s paper, “Assessing Ecological Risk of Non-Native Fish to Native Herterospecifics Using Integrated Habitat, Diet, and Competitive Behavior Studies,” was co-authored by Wansuk Senanan, a faculty member at Burapha University, Thailand, and Anne Kapuscinski, professor of fisheries, wildlife and conservation biology at the University of Minnesota. Cooper is a doctoral candidate in the conservation biology program at the University. Minnesota Sea Grant provided $250 for the award.
