New University Institute Taps Sea Grant Researchers

The interim director and seven of the 15 people appointed to guide the University of Minnesota’s Institute on the Environment (IonE) have conducted research for Minnesota Sea Grant. IonE is a program formed in 2006 on the Twin Cities Campus to tackle environmental challenges by bringing together experts from wide-ranging academic disciplines and programs, including Sea Grant. The institute hopes that new discoveries will result from making it easier for researchers to share knowledge with each other and the public.
