Runoff Race No Easy Ride

Several teams and walkers joined Rex the Watershed Dog in the Walk, Ride, and Runoff event organized by Minnesota Sea Grant in May. While walkers enjoyed views of spring, Lake Superior, and the St. Louis River, winners Charlie Dunbar (left) and Mike Buran biked and ran the challenging 14K course in 1 hour, 47 minutes.

This community activity was designed to bring attention to land use and water quality interactions in a physical way. Walkers picked up trash and environmental tips while racers considered environment-friendly biking and erosion.
