Harbor Corrosion Report Available

Harbor corrosion report

What’s accelerating the corrosion of steel structures in the Duluth-Superior Harbor? The panel of experts that met in Duluth last fall thinks it has to do with water chemistry and dissolved oxygen content. More studying and monitoring of the problem needs to be done before we know for sure, however.

Their report is now available for free from Minnesota Sea Grant’s Web page. To download the Freshwater Corrosion in the Duluth-Superior Harbor PDF file visit: www.seagrant.umn.edu/water/
