Sea Grant Staff with garbage from Beach Sweep

Minnesota Sea Grant staff members Debbie Bowen, Sarah Donahue, Sharon Moen, Doug Jensen, Barb Peichel, Mike Cousino, and Jesse Schomberg display the loot they gathered while participating in the Great Lakes Beach Sweep 2002. They picked up over 200 pounds of garbage, including 1,660 cigarette butts and a kazoo, along a three-block stretch of Lake Superior beach as part of a worldwide, one-day beach cleanup effort. The Great Lakes Beach Sweep was organized by the Great Lakes Aquarium and sponsored by Sea Grant and other local organizations.
