The cost of water varies widely across the United States. In 1999 the cost of 22,200 gallons of water, which is enough to supply a month of water to roughly 15 apartment units, was $873 in Pittsburgh, PA, $424.40 in Cleveland, OH, $292.76 in Duluth, MN, and $222.62 in Detroit, MI. The national average was $404.09.
