Did Ja Know?

More than 300 species of minnows live in North and Central America. The minnow family contains more species than any other family of fish native to the fresh waters of the North American continent. Minnesota has 41 native species of minnows, plus 3 introduced from Europe or Asia. They represent almost one-third of the fish fauna of the state and clearly outnumber the species of any other fish family.
