Barb Liukkonen, Education Coordinator

Barb Liukkonen is back! After a year-long hiatus as program director for the Rivers Council of Minnesota, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting Minnesota’s 92,000 miles of rivers, Liukkonen rejoins Sea Grant as an Education Coordinator. She will help refine our educational Web sites and work on a shoreline guidebook and river primer. Liukkonen earned a bachelor’s degree in geology and education from Carleton College and a master’s degree in hydrogeology from the University of Minnesota. She will divide her time between the University of Minnesota’s Sea Grant and Extension programs from her office on the St. Paul campus.
