Attendees and participants can:

  • Learn how Minnesota AIS Prevention Programs are investing their County Prevention Aid and hear about their success stories and new approaches.
  • Make connections and network with national, regional, state and local experts working on AIS issues or participate remotely online via laptop, tablet or smartphone.
  • Build partnerships and learn how to build capacity to address AIS challenges, especially with business, resort and sporting groups.
  • Consider using new and existing technology to promote awareness and report AIS sightings.
  • Learn about youth education curricula and advances in behavior-change science that can be applied through outreach in communities.
  • Investigate how to better manage AIS through monitoring, detection and treatment protocols,
  • Get insights into how to effectively shut down pathways for introduction of new and existing AIS.
  • Learn about how AIS damage the environment, recreation and community economies that rely on healthy lakes and rivers.

Minnesota Sea Grant will be hosting a Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers!TM booth and chairing the session: "Breakout Three, Track Three: Making It Easier for People to Stop the Spread of AIS, on Feb. 28, from 4:30-:30 p.m.

While at the summit, catch Minnesota Sea Grant Aquatic Invasive Species Program Coordinator Doug Jensen who will be happy to answer your questions about aquatic invasive species and preventing their spread.
