Minnesota Sea Grant and the Minnesota Aquarium Society will share a booth at the Northern Green Expo (Booth #1237) to introduce HabitattitudeTM, a nationwide public awareness campaign to help aquarium and water garden owners become part of the solution to prevent the release of aquatic fish and plants into the environment.

The campaign logo and "don't release" message appears on fish bags, new aquariums, brochures and advertisements in hobbyist magazines. The campaign is a cooperative effort among the pet and water garden industries, academia, federal government, and non-profits to educate the public about the environmental hazards of releasing pets into the environment.

The Minnesota Aquarium Society (MAS) is an incorporated, non-profit organization of tropical fish enthusiasts established in 1931. From beginner to advanced hobbyists, storeowners and breeders, there are roughly 200 current members - making it one of the largest societies in the country. They host multiple shows and school programs www.aquarium.mn.

The Expo is focused on education related to green innovation and technology and will feature more than 125 exhibitors with a wide variety of presentations over three days. For more event information or to register, visit www.NorthernGreenExpo.org.
