Interested in accessing the power and potential of Great Lakes data? Sea Grant is offering three training sessions regarding the Great Lakes Observing System to people managing, protecting, and educating others about the Great Lakes.

  • Session 1: 9 AM - noon
  • Session 2: 1 - 4 PM
  • Session 3: 6 - 8 PM (for K-12 teachers)

The Great Lakes Observing System (http://glos.us) is poised to:

  • Improve predictions of climate change and weather and their effects on coastal communities and the nation;
  • Improve the safety and efficiency of maritime operations;
  • Reduce public health risks; and
  • Protect and restore coastal ecosystems more effectively.

NOTE: GLOS workshops will be held throughout the Great Lakes states to introduce GLOS to Great Lakes constituencies, assess the need for GLOS products, and provide “hands-on” training. Stay tuned!
