Ahoy! Educational Opportunity for Teachers
The University of Minnesota Sea Grant is looking for a few exceptional teachers!
IF you:
- Teach 4th-10th grade students in the Great Lakes basin, and
- Integrate (or are willing to integrate) Great Lakes and marine science into curriculum,
OR, IF you work for a non-formal educational institution that has Great Lakes or marine science exhibits (or plan to add such topics).

Here you will find an application and information about the Shipboard and Shoreline Science Workshops being offered through The Center for Ocean Sciences Education Excellence (COSEE) Great Lakes. Apply for a berth aboard the Environmental Protection Agency's research vessel, the R/V Lake Guardian! Selected applicants will work with Great Lakes Sea Grant educators and scientists, and be eligible for graduate credits through the University of Minnesota Duluth.
Shipboard and Shoreline Science Workshop location and dates:
- Lake Superior (July 7-13, 2009)
- Lake Huron (July 25-31, 2009)
