Ask A Scientist: Secrets of Science Communication

May 6th & 7th, 2008

Science seeps into the mainstream through a series of conduits. Discuss how information moves from research laboratories and academia into the news with some of the gatekeepers: Dr. Debra Schroeder, a social psychologist with the College of St. Scholastica; Marie Zhuikov, Minnesota Sea Grant communications coordinator; and Mike Simonson - KUWS Radio (Duluth talk), or Joan Farnam - Cook County News Herald (Grand Marais talk). They will talk about the art, the science, and the secrets of science communications.

The discussions, hosted by Minnesota Sea Grant, will take place on:

Tuesday, May 6, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Blue Water Café
20 W. Wisconsin St., Grand Marais, Minn.
Wednesday, May 7, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Amazing Grace Bakery and Café
394 S. Lake Ave., Canal Park, Duluth, Minn.
