Sea Grant Staff Receive Promotions

Two employees with the University of Minnesota Duluth's Minnesota Sea Grant Program have received promotions. Debbie Bowen was promoted to information technology and business manager from information specialist. She will offer information technology support, manage databases and business processes, provide administrative support to the director, and coordinate planning for events and conferences.
Sharon Moen was promoted to science writer from editor. She will prepare news releases, fact sheets, and articles for external audiences, including newsletter stories, and on Minnesota Sea Grant's Web site (www.seagrant.umn.edu). She will also assist in marketing Sea Grant products.
Minnesota Sea Grant is part of a university-based network of 30 Sea Grant College Programs spanning coastal states throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Its research and education projects help enhance the environment and communities along Lake Superior and Minnesota's inland waters.
