Registration and Poster Session Deadline Approaching for "Making a Great Lake Superior" Conference

September 14 is the early registration deadline for attending the "Making a Great Lake Superior 2007" conference in Duluth, Minn. The conference will be held October 29-31 at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center on the harbor. It will cover pressing issues and topics such as:
- Invasive species
- Climate change
- Water levels and lake withdrawals
- Non-point source pollution
- Economic and environmental sustainability -Fisheries and aquatic ecology
Submissions for the poster session also close on September 14. The evening poster session and reception is a perfect opportunity to share your work with colleagues. Previously exhibited posters from past conferences are welcome!
After September 14, the conference registration rate rises from $150 to $180. Single-day rates and reduced rates for students are available, as well as limited scholarships for teachers and others. Conference organizers include the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Environment Canada, and the University of Minnesota Sea Grant Program.
Twenty-six organizations are sponsoring the event, including U.S. and Canadian government departments, academic institutions, Sea Grant programs, international organizations, tribal organizations, and watershed groups.
