Historic Lake Superior and Minnesota’s North Shore 2004 Calendar
October 20, 2003
Minnesota Sea Grant is again offering a black-and-white wall calendar of North Shore memories. Historic photographs of Lake Superior coupled with voices from a time when American life was more basic might be the ideal way to soothe the hectic months of 2004.
The 12-month calendar, printed with soy ink on recycled paper, features selections from the archives of state and local historical societies. Quotes from historic texts and facts complement the images, moon phases, and holidays (including local favorites like St. Urho’s Day).
Historic Lake Superior and Minnesota’s North Shore calendar costs $10, plus tax. Sample the images online at www.seagrant.umn.edu/calendar/index.html. The calendar can be found at Barnes and Noble and Walden Book stores in Minnesota and at many local gift shops and bookstores in Duluth and along the North Shore. Order through the Web address above or by calling Sea Grant at (218) 726-6191.
The publication is a cooperative effort between Sea Grant, Christie Printing Company, and the Lake Superior Marine Museum Association.
