This first annual statewide conference on invasive species was held to encourage the exchange of information on topics relating to both aquatic and terrestrial invasive species. The conference was designed to strengthen awareness of invasive species issues at the local level, as well as promoting local prevention and management activities. It attracted over 430 attendees.

Doug Jensen, Minnesota Sea Grant’s AIS Program Coordinator co-chaired the conference, and Minnesota Sea Grant was a sponsor. The Minnesota Invasive Species Advisory Council hosted the event.
