Zhuikov gave an introduction to Minnesota Sea Grant to a Teaching Science and Environmental Education class at UMD during March.
Zhuikov was a guest speaker for a University for Seniors feature writing class during January at UMD.
Zhuikov organized two media briefings during the Making a Great Lake Superior Conference 2007 held in Duluth at the DECC during October, including one featuring Governor Tim Pawlenty and polar explorer Will Steger. Coverage of the conference appeared in the Minneapolis Star Tribune, St. Paul Pioneer Press, Associated Press, Duluth News Tribune, KUMD Radio and other regional radio stations, and local television stations.
Zhuikov was named chair of the Great Lakes Sea Grant Network communications group at the Great Lakes Sea Grant Network Conference held during September in Chicago, IL.
